Christmas Kathmandu experiences and our new products!

Last weekend Samudayik Sarathi was present at Christmas Kathmandu 2014, which was organized in Jawalakhel. Despite the rainy weather and cold wind, we met many warm-hearted people, who were truly interested of our work.

We were also selling some of our products in order to raise funds for our Community Center in Manohara slum. We sold sweaters, toys and vases (made by the women of Manohara), Christmas cards (made by the children of Manohara) and paintings. Out of the profits, certain amount will be paid directly back to the women, who made the products and the rest will be used for the facility improvement of our Community Center. At the moment, our children are in a need of interactive toys and education materials for learning and studying. We are also hoping to be able to purchase some furnitures, to make the Community Center’s environment more pleasant. Since children are also provided lunch at the Community Center, we will also target in providing nutritional and healthy food.
